Gustavo Fernandez came close to completing the calendar-year Grand Slam in 2019. After winning wheelchair singles titles at that season’s Australian Open, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, the Argentine was stopped in the semi-finals of the US Open. In all, Fernandez has five Grand Slam singles titles, with two Australian Open crowns, two from Roland Garros and one from Wimbledon and has been ranked as the World No. 1.
He has also enjoyed success on the doubles court, with two Wimbledon titles and one from Roland Garros.
